EB History
Executive Beechcraft traces its roots to 1938, when Dan Meisinger, Sr.
opened the doors to his fledgling flying service, later becoming a Beech
Aircraft distributor in 1945.
The company was originally named Topeka Aircraft Sales & Service until
it expanded to Kansas City in the early 1950s. With the end of World War
II bringing with it an economic boom, the impact of aviation grew. Former
military pilots transitioned to civilian pilots and aircraft manufacturer's
answered the call by developing new and affordable entry level aircraft.
Executive Beechcraft quickly developed a reputation for sales and service
excellence across the country. The business continued to expand across the
Midwest, and at one time there were five different EB locations throughout
Kansas and Missouri, employing more than 200 aviation professionals.
During his lifetime career in aviation, Meisinger sold more than 1,200
new Beech airplanes, and was twice named Beech Aircraft's Man of the Year
-- the only individual in the company's history ever to win the coveted
award twice. In 1996, Meisinger received the Kansas Governor's Award for
Aviation.
All of Dan Meisinger's four children grew up around airplanes, so it was
no surprise when all of them joined the family operation.
"Dan Senior" as he was affectionately called, stayed active in
the company until his death at the age of 82.
EB continued to be owned and operated by the Meisinger family for the next
ten years, until the company was sold to BBA Aviation in mid 2007.
