Accounting Specialist
REPORTS TO: Accounting Manager
LOCATION: MKC
SUMMARY
Responsible for all accounting functions and preparation of reports detailing financial performance.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Compile composite reports required by management or governmental agencies.
- Prepare and analyze aircraft maintenance operational budget.
- Prepare and analyze aircraft maintenance budget forecasts.
- Reconcile monthly bank statement.
- Prepare and review month-end reports; supervise month-end close.
- Reconcile fuel inventory.
- Research and correct POS billing errors, PCAT issues and credit card disputes.
- Maintain petty cash account; issue petty cash checks as requested.
- Assist managers with answers to accounting questions.
- Performs accounting clerk and bookkeeping duties.
- Prepare custom reports as requested by General Manager to better analyze the business and operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Manage parts department (order, receive, and invoice parts)
- Manage physical inventory counts
- Manage obsolete inventory
- Manage subcontract services - parts & labor
- Manage time cards (each maintenance employee should have a daily time card summarizing their billable labor)
- Manage work orders (create, enter employee time, enter parts, enter subcontract services)
- Manage cores (create & manage core tracking schedule, manage core listed in parts inventory, send cores in for repair, invoice customer for repairs, receive cores back in inventory)
- Invoice work orders (in EBIS & AS400?)
- Answer phones
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Regularly required to sit.

- Write routine reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
- Apply math concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry.
- Apply math concepts such as fractions, percentages, rations and proportions to practical situations.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions furnished in written oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Specific vision capabilities include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Four (4) year college degree plus three (2) years related experience or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CPA preferred. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Proficient computer skills required including but not limited to; Excel and other Microsoft Office products. Proficient with budget creation, forecasting and key performance indicator analysis. Demonstrated experience with assisting management with analysis of financial data. Experience within aircraft maintenance environment preferred.
