BBA AVIATION FLIGHT SUPPORT ANNOUNCES STAFF CHANGES
BBA Aviation is in the process of evolving from a financial holding company to a focused aviation company conbrtinuously delivering exceptional performance, through dynamic and world class businesses run by empowered, entrepreneurial management teams under wider strategic and operational sponsorship. As part of this process, I am pleased to announce the following changes to, and clarification of the management structure, roles and responsibilities within BBA Aviation Flight Support. The changes take place with immediate effect.
Bruce Van Allen will continue to serve as President of BBA Aviation Flight Support. In this role, Bruce has overall strategic and operational responsibility for its four business units, Signature Flight Support North America, Signature Flight Support Europe, ASIG, and Executive Beechcraft. The business unit heads will report directly to Bruce, namely:
Keith Ryan, President, ASIG
Steve Lee, President, Signature Flight Support, North America
David Best, Managing Director, Signature Flight Support, Europe
Scott Tychsen, President, Executive Beechcraft
Bruce will also be supported in his role by Gary Boekenkamp, Vice President, Strategy & Business Development, BBA Aviation Flight Support, and Rob Frese who has been appointed Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of BBA Aviation Flight Support.
Gary Boekenkamp takes on an expanded role, responsible for the coordination and execution of Flight Support's overall strategy and new business development initiatives worldwide including acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic industry alliances. Business development will become a larger and more coordinated function with dedicated executives and expanded global business development resources reporting to the respective business unit leadership, but under the strategic guidance and co-ordination of Gary. In addition, Gary will also spend a significant proportion of his time supporting strategic planning and business development coordination in BBA Aviation's other businesses.
Rob Frese will provide overall financial support, review and analysis across the four business units of BBA Aviation Flight Support and support new business development initiatives. He will relinquish his responsibilities as CFO BBA Aviation North America as part of the broader reorganisation of the finance function that is being announced separately. Rob will retain responsibility for certain elements of North American shared services until the wider Group review of the opportunity for broader use, and the appropriate management and organisation structure of, shared services is completed in the summer of 2008. An announcement clarifying the reporting lines of personnel in shared services is being made separately.
Bruce will be gathering together the Flight Support team shortly to identify detailed roles, responsibilities and ways of working in this clarified organisational structure.
